About this game

Talisman: Digital Edition, the classic fantasy adventure board game for 1-6 players. This officially licensed version of the Games Workshop game uses the 4th Revised Edition rules. In Talisman, you embark on a perilous quest for the ultimate treasure, the Crown of Command. Choose from 14 characters such as the Warrior, Assassin, Thief or Wizard and race your opponents through a perilous realm. Each character is unique in their strengths, weaknesses and special powers. To win the game, you must journey to the heart of the land to find the Crown of Command, and then use its ancient magic to cast a mighty spell to subdue all your rivals. Only by gradually building up your adventurer's powers, gathering valuable allies, and winning potent magical items will you stand a chance of surviving the ultimate test that lies beyond the Portal of Power.

This family-friendly game is simple to play - roll a die to move around the board and draw cards on spaces to encounter dangerous foes and claim powerful rewards! Build up your character's power until you are ready to travel to the more dangerous areas of the board. Beware though, each character has the same goal and will stop at nothing to be the first to the Crown!

Yes! Get your family and friends together and race each other to the Crown!

Do I need to buy expansions to join an online game with expansions?
No! You do not need to buy expansion packs in order to join a game that is using them, but you cannot choose the characters from it until you purchase it.

Does the game have asynchronous play?
No. Talisman doesn't really suit asynchronous play due to players having to react to spell casting.

It IS a great game & well worth the time to play. However, I agree with many others despite what the developers say. It does seem there's an unfair disadvantage toward the player, even when you change the difficulty. However, it should keep you from playing. It's a great game, my only complaint is I wish Developers would listen to the player base instead of trying to defend their mechanics....maybe check the coding cause it does seem to have unfair difficulty majority of the time.

Hi Robert. Thanks for your review, it's much appreciated. We have checked and re-checked our code many times and can confirm that the random number generation system we use is authentic and realistic. The unfairness often stands out more than when things do go your way. I'm glad you're enjoying the game though. Carl @ Nomad Games.

If you're a fan of board games and Magic: The Gathering style card games, then this game is the one for you. This can be played against 3 AI or four people in real time. There's a huge array of playable characters, each bringing their own special attribute that you can strategize with, along with selecting the faction they play as. There is the base game, but has numerous dlc expansions that add new characters, cards, and even sections of the game board. This is definitely a game worth buying.

Overall it is true to the game. If you like the physical game this is fun. The interface is quirky - It's hard to read things and I wish that zoom was easer to use (pinch 2 zoom without the view mode transitions would be nice - think mac OS). I wish there was a "back" option for most things. There are times where "continue" means you can no longer change your mind and this can be frustrating. After killing someone at the crown of command I would like a "quick ignore all items" button. After killing 2 attackers dismissing 20 items each turn is annoying.

Hi Peter. Immobility can be cast on any character at the start of their turn, including your character. You can avoid duplicate characters in the House Rules when setting a game up - choose the option 'Random Characters'. Spells can be queued in advance by double-tapping them in your Play Area. They will then cast at the next available time.
